Cheap motorbike
Im hoping to pick up a cheap motorbike in London or surrounding areas in the next couple of weeks. I have tried online for bike traders. I have come across a 2008 Suzuki GS 500 for 2 k. Is it possible to pick up something for half that as I have no idea of the motorbike market. Or does the motorbike market differ from the car one in that it is impossible to pick up a half decent runner at a low price? Thanks in advance.

Re: Cheap motorbike
You might consider a second hand Indian built Royal Enfield, Bullet 500 which are not too dear, even when new.

They are not mega fast, but they are adequate and are small enough to be able to filter well.

You should know that if you are wanting to beat traffic in London, that it is no longer so bike friendly, with the new cycle lanes which have squeezed the car traffic lanes, making filtering very difficulty.

Good call on the scooter and you might get a new or very newish Honda for something like £2k.

Don't get a cheap ebay scooter.

Only 200km a week, all in town? Don't bother with a 500cc bike, you'd get around much faster (and drier) on a decent (125cc +) scooter.

A cheap hack shouldn't be an issue then..Gumtree are cheapest & shitest, Ebay still cheap but slightly more reliable, local bike shops advertise on there & you usually get some sort of warranty from them.

Mate I just went on to ebay.co.uk and keyed in motorbikes and max price £1200 and immediately the first bike was a 2007 650cc Suzuki with 23,000miles that finishes in 5 minutes...
